I was recently offered a job as a part time lecturer in Translation Studies. The actual number of contact hours is very low, so it won’t affect my day to day translation, but I will have to make some extra time for marking students’ homework. I debated back and forward with my partner about it, but we decided a bit of stability (only a tiny bit) is actually a good thing for freelancers, especially in this environment with Brexit and who knows what else round the corner.
